West Virginia

"Almost heaven... West Virginia,
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River;
Life is old there, older than the trees,
younger than the mountains, rolling like a breeze."
John Denver - Take Me Home Country Roads
  Recently my family and I took a road-trip to the lovely West Virginia. We stayed with my sister for a few days, picked blueberries on the picturesque Dolly Sods, and visited my uncle's farm-in-progress.
 Rolling mountains, vast forests, and country roads cover this state. All the farms and gorgeous scenery tend to bring out the country girl in me! ;)
We picked tons of blueberries on the mountain and ate them with delicious pancakes the next morning - yummm!
Later, when we spent an afternoon on the "Storybook Farm", I was blown away. My cousin had described it to me, but I had underestimated how much raw beauty would be there!
Hehe my matching brothers :) I love them.
Probably my favorite part of the farm was the spring house. The land has all these natural springs just bubbling out of the ground! One of them was in the spring house, and you'd drink the cold, clear water with a tin pot. How country is that!
