Rafraf Beach

This week we had a delightful day off spent in the countryside. (I guess it wasn't exactly the country, but more so than inner city!) Despite its interesting name, Rafraf Beach was pleasant and refreshing. A few friends and my family packed picnics, beach towels, and hiking shoes for the adventure. We splashed in the chilly water and sunned on the wonderfully empty beach, then set off on a hike along the coastline and the ridge. The trek involved going barefoot in soft sand, scrambling up rocks for incredible views, and bushwhacking our way back down.

Summer is in the air, the mosquitoes are plentiful and obnoxious, and school is gradually slowing down. Plans these days are usually last-minute and spontaneous. Life is rather slow-paced but relaxing, and I am finding many things to be grateful for. Reading, card games, and long evenings in the courtyard are main sources of entertainment.

It isn't always easy by any means, but it is good to be alive, friends. Oh, and coffee always helps of course. :) Hope you all are enjoying warm weather and the promise of summer!
