The city that was buried alive was definitely one of my favorite parts of Italy! I had heard that it was well-preserved, but I didn't know what to expect. And it sure remains intact! There were paintings on the walls with colors that were still vivid, detailed mosaics and bright tiles covering floors, and the layout of the city was still obvious. It was awesome walking around this old city, but creepy too, with the displays of people instantly buried by ash.
